Just a few days ago, I was delighted to hear of Mrs Soga's offer to donate a few Japanese books to our library. All donations are appreciated and I assumed Mrs Soga would be giving us 3 or 4 books. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at school one morning to find all these lovely Japanese picture books waiting on my desk. Mrs Soga, mother of Yuma in 3B, gave us a stack of colorful hardback picture books and the books are all in pristine condition. The next day I was delighted to see some middle school students visit the library and sit down to open and discuss, in Japanese, these beautiful stories. We're all very grateful for this kind donation. Thank you, Mrs Soga! If any other parents would like to donate books your children no longer use at home, particularly books in languages other than English, the children and I will be very grateful. |
