It's one of our favorite times of year. It's time to celebrate poetry.
Beginning Monday, the 16th of November, children will be hearing, reading, writing and reciting poems in our lower school classrooms. They'll be visited daily by the Poetry Peddler, and finally, on November 27th they'll be invited to visit the Poetry Palace, in their pajamas!
That's right, all Lower School children are invited to bring their pajamas, teddy bears and flashlights to school on the 27th of November when they'll visit the Poetry Palace and share poetry in dens, caves and tunnels, under the twinkling lights.
The titles have been announced. The 3rd and 4th graders are beginning to read these books and will be facing the challenge of reading to remember. We'll have some practice battles, just sparring really, to remind them of the fitness level they'll need in order to go all the way with this one. May the most dedicated readers meet with success.
